Bath Bakery

"Farewell Hobbs House" and "Hello Bath Bakery"

We're making the switch to a much more local supplier of our daily bread - Bath Bakery. We will be using three varieties of their Organic sliced bread - White, Three Seed and also Malted.

We have always been rightly proud of the local suppliers that we use, Bath Soft Cheese, Godminster, Orchard Pig to name but a few and now of course, Bath Bakery!

Cake!

Fresh out of the kitchen - Raspberry & Almond Madeira Cake. Of course, we had to sample a slice this morning for breakfast, being unable to wait until elevenses......

The verdict? Absolutely delicious! Picture to follow but just imagine light, moist crumbling madeira studded generously with juicy British raspberries....

Could you help change the direction of a young person’s life?

One of the charities that we support here at Best Of British is Mentoring Plus.

Mentoring Plus is currently on the look out for people who would be able to give up a couple of hours a week to make a big difference to the lives of young people. See below:

Mentoring Plus is looking for caring, reliable adults to act as Volunteer Mentors. We are a Bath-based project and work with vulnerable young people between the ages of 12 and 17. Building trusting relationships, we help children to develop increased self-confidence and emotional well-being. Mentors usually offer around a couple of hours a week for about a year.

In return, we offer full training, out of pocket expenses and a unique opportunity to make a real difference to your community.

If you think you’ve got the warmth, resilience and empathy to be a mentor, call Andy Graham or Humphrey Pain on (01225) 429694 or download and complete an application form from our website: www.mentoringplus.net

We're proud to say that they included us and not only that but they put us at number 1!!

Summer

It seems to be officially summer now, so why not make the most of your lunchtime by visiting one of Bath's many green spaces - Imperial Gardens, Royal Crescent, Victoria Park........

We have everything here to put together either a quick lunch-hour snack or a full blown family picnic - sandwiches, salads, quiche, pork-pies & cake. Best washed down with some ice cold lemonade, ginger beer or even Orchard Pig Cider!!
